Respecting the Tarot

Many of us are attracted to the mystique surrounding these fascinating cards. Maybe you have been drawn to “have a Tarot reading”. Maybe you were gifted a Tarot deck. Maybe you found yourself buying your very own cards.

What is it that makes this ancient oracle so intriguing?

One reason is that Tarot has been around for centuries; anything of that age and still popular is intriguing. Its origin is generally disputed however current historical understanding shows it originated in Italy in the early 15th century, nearly 600 years ago.

Wanting deeper insight into our life journey and day to day world is, in itself, an ancient quest. Tarot can assist us in this quest by allowing us to access our Higher Self’s guidance, the best guidance there is. It is the Higher Self, the wisest most spiritual part of us that chooses the cards. This is why they are so accurate, for our Higher Self has access to the answers to all we could ever wish to ask about ourselves.

The Tarot is rich with images, symbols and colours. This is the language of our right brain; the creative and intuitive side of ourselves. The tarot is one way we can awaken our right brain to gain access to our inner knowing.

With respect for the energy of the Tarot you may gain some very powerful insights and guidance.

Too often we lay some cards for our particular situation, glossing over the deeper meanings and missing the actual energy of the cards. Insights and guidance are lost as we rush a reading for quick answers. We then dismiss those cards and continue churning problems over with our mind causing even more confusion and worry.

So, how do we deepen our relationship to Tarot?

  • Make dedicated time to do your spread where other people or activities will not divert you. Its precious “you” time.
  • Decide on a spread first. Small spreads can be very powerful so do not discount them.
  • Centre yourself first. This means taking a deep breath or two and feeling yourself present. Thinking about the past or future is not being present. Come right to this moment. Hear the different sounds around you. If you have the time meditate for awhile first.
  • Relax any tension you are holding in your body.
  • Shuffle your cards as you think about the issue at hand.
  • Choose your cards after re-centring yourself.
  • Lay your spread out and take note of your initial impressions and feelings about the cards.

It is helpful to jot this down in your journal.

Doing this will bring even more clarity as you “express”.

  • Look at the pictures in detail and take note of what is standing out to you, what is loud in each image? What does that say to you about your world?
  • Describe the picture, out loud or in your journal is the best way as it will solidify what you see helping you to understand it in more detail. Working with a partner to do this can be very effective and helps you to “own” the experience.
  • Let the images talk to you, imagine yourself in the picture. What is happening? What is being said? How do you feel?
  • Don’t just open your Tarot book and take on what is being said there. This is often very general and can be confusing to your situation. You will miss so much insight from your own inner guide.
  • Only use your cards when you are “clear”. Drugs and alcohol will obviously affect your clarity and can invite unwanted energies into your space.

Experiencing the Tarot in this way will bring you deeper insights. Respect the time you have dedicated and let the language of archetypes and symbols speak to you.

Making the Most of a Professional Reading

  • Choose your reader wisely. Being recommended by someone you trust is great. Allow your inner feeling to guide you.
  • It is not a reader’s job to “give advice”. Beware of this as it is subtle control and disempowering to you.

A good reader will guide you to your own insights just as a good counsellor does.

  • Be in a clear frame of mind. Don’t use drugs or alcohol before your reading.
  • Have some questions or a general idea of what you are wanting guidance on to share with your reader. This will make the reading more effective and less general.
  • Be open to questions from your reader as some of the cards have more than one meaning and they may need to ascertain how a particular energy fits into your world right now.
  • Have your reading taped so you are not focussed on taking notes.
  • Ask questions about images, statements and concepts you do not understand. It is not meant to be a mysterious experience. Worrying later about things you didn’t understand will be harmful to your energy field and create more confusion.
  • After the reading notice what stands out to you and reflect on these things.

If you are genuinely interested in understanding more about this rich tool for self discovery consider a tarot course. This is a sure way of getting to know your cards more intimately and how to read them in your own way. Maybe you even take it to a professional level yourself when you feel ready!

Whether you use your own deck or visit a good reader respect the energy of these special cards and you will gain insights into your world, helping you to gain clarity about anything at all.
Have fun!

Healing and Your Chakras

I imagine you to be familiar with the seven major chakras. These fascinating vortices of energy are part of of our multi dimensional anatomy. As a healer I’m interested in the information they storeabout our history and their role in healing.Emotional and mental energy from past experiences is encoded in our cells causing an energetic vibration to occur. All past trauma, betrayals and fears along with relationship, work, health, spiritual and creative issues become store din our tissue as a discordant vibration. These vibrations can be sensed or read by intuitives. They will appear to them as symbols, visual scenes, words or feelings depending on their abilities.

Experiences of a love vibration can also be sensed. This type of energy vitalises our cells and brings radiance to the surrounding tissue. Positive experiences of any nature make us feel more alive and vital due tot he expansion of Light and Love energy in our system.

Chakras have varying degrees of wellness. People talk about closed chakras yet they never really close as such. They can be congested with discordant energy to the point where minimal light energy can get through or it may be a minor congestion that restricts the optimal flow. This restricted flow means organs and tissues in the surrounding area of a chakra is compromised. This is how dis-ease occurs.

There have been great and not so great books written about the chakras explaining their unique nature. If it’s a field you have explored you will notice contradicting information. For instance, is the pineal gland related to the third eye or the crown chakra? Is the earthy base chakra about sex or is it the passionate sacral chakra?

I’m currently writing a book about what is required for true healing to take place. It’s also about my own journey as a Spiritual Healer. I’m up tot he place where i’m summarising what i have found to make sense to me in my 20 plus years of working personally and professionally with chakras as an energy intuitive and psychic. Working deeply with the chakras can bring about profound healing.

Healing congested energy centres requires loving wise support and guidance. It will take us into our history, the not so pretty parts of our history that is. The parts we like to think we have moved on from.

Unraveling our past is often challenging. Deep healing can take us into scary places. It’s common to have repressed emotions in our system, feelings that were no given room to be expressed back then. I see this in almost every client and student I work with. I see it in my friends and family. I work on it constantly within myself.

This dense energy sits in our system, in our chakras and in our body. It causes physical dis-ease and pain on every level. These frozen emotions need gentle, loving holding before they begin to thaw. They are simply energy that needs to move. They may leak out gradually as sarcasm, control, blame and tension with those we care about. Or maybe they spew out as anger or rage. we may think they are about what is in front of us yet this is not the case. Our Authentic Self is loving, not blaming or angry.

With awareness we can move from unconscious slow bleeding of our old emotions over those close to close to us to conscious allowing of the release of old pain, old stuck energy.

Forgiveness is our key to real healing, true forgiveness of others that we feel have hurt or betrayed us.Sometimes we need to grieve the past, taking time to release the sadness about what we have lost.Ultimately forgiveness of self is required for without gracious, loving acceptance of who were and what we did int he past we cannot accept ourselves fully today – this hinders our ability to leave the past behind, to truly heal.

For a healthy body we need our power in present time, not stuck int he past holding on to resentments and hurts. is we persist with allowing our energy to stay in the past we are unconsciously allowing our systems to be devitalised in the present.For a healthy body we need our power in present time, not stuck in the past holding on to resentments and hurts. If we persist with allowing our energy to stay in the past we are unconsciously allowing our systems to be devitalised in the present.

Did you know that not holding on to your personal power or sexual trauma can bring about problems with your lower intestines, hips, womb or sacrum?

What about when we don’t feel safe or secure? This can bring a lack of grounding, making our legs to feel heavy and bring fatigue and anxiety. Feeling of guilt stir the solar plexus and can affect our digestive system.

The heart chakra stores our issues to do with love, forgiveness and grief amongst other things. grief that has not been expressed over time will affect the body physically in that area. heart attacks, breast cancer and lung disorders are all serious manifestations of holding on to the past in these areas.

And so, with some loving support and guidance from your own Higher Self or a knowledgeable healer you can heal whatever you are truly ready for.

O, and by the way, the pineal gland is actually vitalised by the third eye chakr and sexual issuescan affect us in the base and the sacral centre depending on their nature.

By taking our awareness into our chakras we can find the root of any issue. This is where real healing can occur.By taking our awareness into our chakras we can find the root of any issue. This where real healing can occur.

By understanding the chakras and being brave enough to explore a little deeper health and happiness can be yours for keeps!

Heal Your Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus is our personal power centre. It deals with our relationship to our self.

We first learn about relationships through the base chakra where we relate to family. At the sacral chakra we begin exploring relationships outside of family. At the sensitive solar plexus it’s all about us – our relationship to our self.
When the solar plexus is congested here’s what it can look like –

On the Physical Level
Stomach problems
Diabetes
Hepatitis
Intestinal issues
Indigestion
Ulcers
Adrenal fatigue
Anorexia and bulimia

On the Psychological Level
Low self-esteem
Anger issues
Over inflated ego
Issues with rejection
Abusing others
Responsibility issues
Blaming others
Being critical
Susceptible to influences of others
Dependant on others
Being poorly treated
Feeling disempowered
Feeling unappreciated
Being dominant or submissive
Shame
Guilt
Unreliability
Unhealthy competitiveness
Concerns about how one looks
Fear of criticism
Aging issues
Decision making problems
Fear of taking a risk
Difficulty honouring one’s self

Some Ideas for Healing  Your Solar Plexus

Releasing past habits that no longer serve you
Get support to develop your self esteem
Take care of yourself
Take responsibility for yourself
Seek support to become independent from your past
Do an energetic process to bring your power back from others
Breathe to your solar plexus
Bring yellow into your world
Work with the crystal Citrine
Become familiar with your shadow side
Contain your shadow self – don’t project your issues onto other people
Work on your boundaries
Use affirmations to reprogram your beliefs around self worth
Laugh! Taking things too seriously can make us lose power.
When we can laugh at life we loosen our energetic grip, thus holding more of our personal power

The Heart Chakra

This is my favourite chakra for it is here that we experience love, small love and big Spiritual Love (it deserves capitals) The most beautiful feelings of love can be felt here, from the pure love for one’s own child to the deep connection with a soul mate.
Because of my respect and love for this centre Perry and I created a Heart Connection course to focus on evolving this chakra. I also created my only CD to date for this centre. It’s about forgiveness, the deepest healing work we can do and a powerful process for opening our heart centre.

It’s a very important chakra as it vitalises our physical heart – the organ that keeps us alive. A vital heart chakra can change the world. As we radiate our Light through this centre we inspire and affect others and the flow on effect is big, it is Earth changing. The more of us with healthy hearts the greater the capacity for a loving peaceful world.

As we release our repressed grief, loss and sadness we make more space for Divine Love to fill our being.
It is through this chakra that we channel healing energy. Reiki, Spiritual Healing and all forms of hands on healing operate through this centre. We can be a greater channel of this Divine Light energy as we let go of our own congested energy.

It is through this centre that we can see the radiant, loving beauty within all beings.

What a beautiful powerhouse the heart chakra is!

The Power of the Unconscious Mind

We have had many lives. We are also multi faceted beings existing in other dimensions and realities. What a concept for our ego minds!

The deal is we forget all that so we can concentrate on our here and now lessons. Being fully aware of what every aspect of our Soul is up to would be a lot to hold. However! We can access these places gradually when we feel ready to.

Neuroscientists have conducted studies that show that only 5% of our decisions, emotions, actions and behaviours are conscious. That leaves 95% of our stuff in the realm of the unconscious.

So what’s going on in there? It is a rich place to explore for within this hidden part of ourselves lie many answers to why we are the way we are.

When we hold onto our feelings, whether from this life or another they get stored in our body. Thoughts of a fear based nature from the past are also stored in our system. They create unhealthy behaviour today. Accessing the unconscious can allow us to tap into these core thoughts and feelings so they can be understood, felt and released.

The unconscious mind can show us what’s really going on deep within ourselves. The reason we repeat certain types of relationships, the root of our relentless back pain, our fear of being abundant, the reason we sabotage intimacy, our continual anxiety can all be found here.

We also have access to the collective unconscious as well as other realities and worlds. With support or training we can access past lives, spirit realms, the intelligence of our body, the roots of our distress as well as connect with beings in other realities.

Past life regression, inner child work, shamanic journeying, hypnotherapy, kinesiology, guided visualization, dream work, non dominant hand writing and Tarot work are all ways to access the unconscious mind for answers to anything you need to know.

This rich world within us is a fascinating and revealing place to explore.

Have courage, stay curious and be kind as you delve deeper.

Wishing you self love and kindness

Mythical Creatures Are Alive and Well

Mythical is not really the right name for unicorns, dragons, flying horses and other magical creatures. You see they are alive and well. It’s just not on Earth. They live in other dimensions, some that vibrate close to our Earth plane. Because of this supposed mythical creatures do get seen sometimes. In an ethereal kind of way.

Once upon a time, in the days of Atlantis, some of these creatures did live here. I have experienced a distressing past life as a mermaid. Back in those days experimental breeding did occur with humans and animals. That’s a sad story for another time.

What is it that we love about magical creatures and why are we drawn to their images today? I believe everything is a symbol or mirror in our world, everything shows us something about ourselves. When we are drawn to magical beings we are attracted to (via projection) our own inner magic. Unicorns, for example, represent purity, healing and innocence. Connecting with this energy brings us closer to our own innocent, pure self.

I saw a unicorn once. It was an other worldly kind of seeing. I had my eyes wide open in a real Earth place. It was a cold, misty morning. I was walking in some natural forest and came upon a pretty, grassy clearing. I felt energised and deeply connected to Spirit in this high vibration place I had come across.

I was privileged to see, for a few seconds only, into another dimension. I gasped out loud as I saw two beautiful white unicorns canter into the clearing. And then they were gone. I was shivering with the vibration I had experienced. I will never forget it.

If you are attracted to a magical creature know you may be familiar with them from another time. You may have lived close to one, or as one in a life on Earth or another plane of existence.

Consider what these beings symbolise to you. Mermaids represent our feminine power. Dragons our magical power, courage and strength. The wings of Pegasus lift us up to Source. Take these symbols as a message to embrace aspects of yourself.

And keep a look out for unicorns.

The Benefits of Time Travel

Why would you want to explore a past life when you have plenty to deal with in this life time? It’s a question I often hear and I totally get it. Our history is scattered with trauma, pain, loss and betrayal. Whether it’s in this lifetime, or another, those experiences need to be processed and accepted. That will take plenty of your time, it’s certainly taken a fair chunk of mine.

But what about when you have trouble breaking a repetitive pattern or difficulty healing a phobia or relationship issue? Maybe it’s a fertility issue you haven’t been able to heal, a pervasive sadness that wont go away or an inability to begin your spiritual work. From fear of loud noises, disliking a colleague and strange rashes to claustrophobia, anxiety in boats and anger at religion, past life regression can have you arriving into the original story where these issues began.

Once important events have been explored you can be supported to resolve the associated issues that are holding you back in your life today. When we die we take our unresolved emotions and thoughts with us. The anger, guilt, resentment or fear we’re holding will eventually draw us to choose to reincarnate so we can attempt to make peace with them. We don’t always get that down in one lifetime though, I’ve discovered we are slow to learn – we can do numerous lifetimes on the very same theme.

Entering an altered state to access memories and information from the rich storehouse of our unconscious mind is a fascinating journey that I’ve seen bring transformation to hundreds of people, including myself. My most rewarding personal shift happened after I experienced three miscarriages in a row. I discovered an awful pregnancy trauma in another time and released the stored energy of the emotions and thoughts I was deeply holding. I became pregnant only weeks later, stayed pregnant and gave birth to my beautiful son.

Any type of regressive work, whether it is this lifetime or another, can be powerful and transformational. It takes bravery and courage to explore what is not conscious in the name of healing.

So yes, making peace with your past in this life is absolutely necessary if you are wanting a happier life. When you feel drawn to explore other times, places or dimensions to get to the root of that which isn’t healing or see what’s ready to be made conscious then past life regression might be a pleasantly surprisingly experience for you. There’s an added bonus of an expanded awareness of the greater reality of life here on Earth too!

When we discover that we’ve all played a variety of roles, not all of them pretty, it brings a greater acceptance of humanity in all it’s flaws. This is another gift of this work. Less judgement means a more peaceful planet.

wishing you peace with all of your past

How to be with Trauma Surfacing.

I recently experienced a new memory from a long ago incident. It was the sudden and shocking type of recollection that requires time to process. I spent the week thinking, feeling, regressing, trying to not to analyse, feeling some more and gradually integrating this once buried wound.

During that week I was teaching healers how to support their clients by working with the wounded inner child. How perfect for me! They too experienced new memories, and, like myself, they were too young to recall it all and had no witnesses. The few days that followed had me encountering 3 others that also realised a partial disturbing memory.

Healers have always been called to make peace with themselves and their history. With their wisdom, experience and maturity they can now go even deeper. It takes courage and divine timing to be ready for aspects of trauma to come forward in a way that isn’t intellectual. Buried feelings like shame and terror need strong holding from a support person or one’s own compassionate adult self. When we are stuck in a child like memory it can be scary and ungrounding.

If you too have been triggered somehow into a past memory know this is a good thing. Your system is wanting to heal. Our nerves and tissue hold trauma, our pain and tension is usually based in unexpressed emotions from long ago.

When your higher self knows you are ready to finally process something old then memories will come. When they arrive in a way where you are feeling it physically, emotionally and energetically it can be surprising and confusing, especially when you have no recollection of the event. Don’t let your bossy mind try to analyse it, it will stop you feeling and prolong the healing. I know the wanting to understand it thing, it’s an easy default. Thinking isn’t healing though, it blocks emotions like anger, sadness and grief.

Have the courage to feel painful emotions and be patient. Despite what you think or are told you don’t need to know the whole story, regardless of how much your mind wants to understand it. Having no witnesses for past trauma can be frustrating and perplexing, yet if you are meant to know more the images and information will be come in the right time. Trust what is happening on a non intellectual level. You ARE healing.

As we release the hold on old emotions and thought patterns that no longer serve us we become more authentic, and that means a happier, easier life.

Tips for this kind of experience –

  • Don’t think, feel.
  • Get support if you are feeling stuck.
  • Do grounding practices.
  • Be kind to yourself.
  • Practise self compassion
  • Be patient, healing takes time.
  • Remember this is not a bad thing, you are healing, it is a good thing!

Wishing you kindness

Truth Spirit Love – A User’s Guide

I wanted to share a page from Truth Spirit Love with you so you know a bit more about this essential healing guide —

How to Use This Book

This is an easy book for you to dip in and out of. It makes sense when read chronologically, yet the chapters stand alone too. Allow yourself to know what you need to read and when you need to read it.

If you are on a focussed healing journey of your own I suggest reading from the beginning. I have begun with what I believe are some must know things about healing.

We start with A Spiritual Overview on Life. I explain why we’re here on the planet and how challenges are really lessons about Love.

In It’s All About Energy I discuss the nature of being an energy being and why this knowledge is important to healing. My understanding that everything is energy colours they way I perceive life.

Healing Requires Self Responsibility helps you become aware that there is healing work that only you can do – it can’t all be done for you.

Psychology and Spirituality is about how we can’t isolate aspects of our holistic being on a healing journey.

In Dis-ease Begins with a Thought I share some fascinating science about thoughts affecting our wellbeing. All dis-ease starts with a fear-based thought.

Vibration Heals is important information. I share with you what affects our energy field adversely and positively. There’s some research in this piece that you’ll find helpful. When our energy field has a high vibration we feel greater harmony and wellbeing.

I then move into The 12 Steps for Real Healing. I share with you 12 points that I believe are vital to true healing. Understand these and you’re on the way to great health on every level!

In The Gifts of Healing we look at the special high vibe benefits that arise from healing. The whole Earth’s vibration raises as we do our healing work.

Following that, Come Back to Your Body is an exploration of the often neglected practice of being grounded. It’s actually a vital component of healing. I talk about the importance of being connected to the physical body, what it means to be grounded, what stops us doing that and how we can become more body aware.

Releasing Emotion Can Heal Dis-ease is a discussion about the incredible value of allowing our emotions expression. Repressed emotions make us sick. This is another vital element to real healing.

Next we talk about healing particular emotions in Making Peace With Anger, Being with Sadness, Healing Grief and Loss, Understanding Anxiety, Rising Above Guilt and Being Kind to Shame. There are some processes to work with around healing all of these feelings. These topics may bring emotions to the surface for you. Be gentle with yourself and get support if it feels too much to be with on your own.

I’ve included some practical tools to assist you in How to be with Your Emotions.

We then move into The Healing Power of Forgiveness. I really want you to get this; it’s a life-changing practice. We look at what it means, what happens when we don’t do it and learn what’s involved in real forgiveness. This practice alone can heal you. It’s that powerful.

Listen to Your Intuition gives you some practical ways to connect with this innate sense that we all share. Intuition is an inner guide that often gets overlooked due to our habitual thinking. Trusting your knowing takes practise.

In Bring your Power Back you will learn about how we unconsciously give our power away for many reasons and how this impacts our health. I share with you a process I use often with people to recover their energy from others, one that will make you feel more yourself.

Communicate with Your Body is a tool you can use to access information about what’s really going on with your pain or health issue. It’s this exploration that actually showed me I needed to end my career as a flight attendant and embark on becoming a healer. Life-changing information is available when we listen to our body. I’ve included a guided process so you can tune in to your own body.

Care for Your Inner Child explains the nature of the wounded inner child and how to work with it as a way to heal yourself. I talk about how we often unconsciously regress when we are triggered and how to work with that. I also share a little about my own wounded inner child. These precious children within all of us need love, tenderness and understanding. There’s a short process there too so you can connect with your own inner child.

In Past Life Regression I explain how we take unhealed emotions and thoughts with us when we die and how past life regression can help with that. I discuss the variety of lives we may have as well as the nature of soulmates. There’s a piece on children and past lives and I also include a story about a fear of flying.

Remember Your Spirit is a reminder of the importance of faith and how to get reconnected to your spiritual self. It’s super important on a healing journey.

Enjoy, reflect, tune in and hear your own wisdom as you read.

We Must Stay Light!

The time we find our self in is a time of great change on Earth. Our planet has been subjected to the atrocities of greed, ‘power over’ and base desires for a long time. Consider the destruction of nature via mining, fishing, farming, forestry and industry. Think of the pain on all levels that has occurred for the indigenous people of many countries as well as sexual abuse, religious righteousness with it’s resulting traumas and excess consumerism.

When people allow themselves to be pulled into darker or egoic mind states they become capable of all manner of disturbing thoughts and deeds. Not only can this result in shocking events, it creates a field of tension, anxiety and distress that the earth absorbs into her oceans, soil, and air (as if the pollutants and poisons weren’t creating enough damage!) Plants, minerals and animals are also affected by this toxic energy. As humans we are harmed by this fear-based field too. Many sensitives and empaths are well aware of the collective tension that permeates our field when we come close to, see, or consider such atrocities. Our heart hurts for Earth and all who reside on this beautiful planet.

The change that is amplifying is bringing the dark to the light. We are becoming better informed. We can easily see greed, control and lies at play. Our inner knowing senses this as we are guided to truth. That which is not of the light is being exposed. Well-known people are being held accountable for their disturbing secrets; others are scrambling to keep themselves safe. An awakening kind of change is underway.

Now, more than ever before we need to access our light – that part of ourselves that is Divine and Loving. We need to soothe ourselves and Earth with Love. When we focus on Love, we radiate that vibration out into the field around us. This is what lifts the collective field of the planet. Many people radiating Love actually dissolve fear, tension and pain. In fact, I recently saw it only takes 1% of people with a ‘coherent’ field to bring about change for the 99%! That is extraordinary and wonderful!

What we need to do:

  • Don’t indulge fear – it weakens your field making you susceptible to ill-health physically and psychologically.
  • Question supposed facts – do your research, truth is something you feel inside.
  • Know what is right for you. Place your hand on your heart, breathe there. Sense your directives.
  • Pray for healing for Earth and all that resides here.
  • Send Love wherever it’s needed, especially into dark places, events and people.
  • Nurture your spirit – meditate, listen, know who you truly are.
  • Keep feeling your emotions and not avoiding them with busyness, drinking, eating and all the other ways we avoid challenging feelings.
  • Trust your intuition – it knows what you need to eat, what you need to do and when.
  • Know that Light will always disperse darkness.
  • Remember the Divine law of karma – for every action there is always a reaction. Nothing goes unnoticed, nothing. Balance will always come about in Divine time.

Wishing you a Light filled body and an expanded heart.
